Thank you to all donors and sports enthusiasts!

During the closing ceremony of the 24-hour run, Ingrid Proesmans, chair of the Alloreki alumni association, presented a cheque for €4,330 to student Eslam, for the benefit of the International Scholarship Fund. This amount was raised thanks to our alumni, who took up the challenge of running as many kilometres as the students during the 24-hour run – and easily exceeded that goal. The counter stopped at 11,260 kilometres and €4,330. With additional donations and the matching gift from KU Leuven, the total amount rose to €8,960 – enough for two scholarships.

KU Leuven alumni are not afraid of a sporting challenge. On the weekend of 18 and 19 October, we will be running and walking together worldwide to cover as many kilometres as the students do during their 24-hour run. For every kilometre, one euro will be collected for the International Scholarship Fund.

You remember the atmosphere: students pushing each other to the limit, the battle between the frontrunners, persevering through the quiet hours of the night, the euphoria at the finish line. The 24-hour run has now achieved legendary status.
From 21 to 22 October, students will once again compete for the honour of their student societies in this iconic student race.

Running like you used to
Your alma mater challenges you to a global running event the weekend beforehand. Running or walking, it doesn't matter – every step contributes to our collective counter. You can register your kilometres in the Strava club for KU Leuven alumni.

Our goal? To cover at least 8,500 kilometres  with alumni from all corners of the globe, the same distance the students cover during the 24-hour run. Together, we can easily achieve that aim ... and maybe even exceed it!

Every step counts
Just as you once had the opportunity to study here and broaden your horizons, you can now make a difference for the next generation of students. The talent and motivation are there, but the resources need a boost.
For every kilometre you cover, we want to raise one euro for the International Scholarship Fund. By achieving a total of 8,500 euros, two international students can follow a master's programme at KU Leuven.

How to participate
› Run or walk along, wherever you are in the world. Join the Strava club for KU Leuven alumni and log your kilometres between midnight on Saturday 18 October and 11:59 p.m. on Sunday 19 October (CEST)

Follow live
Be sure to tune in to the live stream of the 24-hour run and find out what the alumni challenge has been able to achieve. During the closing ceremony on Wednesday 22 October at 8 pm, we will present a cheque with the total amount that the alumni have collectively raised.

Together, we will show how far our KU Leuven alumni community can go. Challenge accepted!
