Together against glioblastoma
What?
On the 7th of May we, a friend group from Kortrijk, will participate in the Ironman 70.3 in Marbella, Spain.
Together with me, Karel Rosseel, Gauthier Verbrugge, Louis Vauterin, Henri Verhelst, Laurens Vanden Bulcke, Louis De Geest, Mathieu Mylle and Henri Vandecasteele will also participate in this challenge.
With our participation we would like to support the Leuven Cancer Institute (LKI), and more specifically the research into brain tumors led by Prof. Clement. This is a cause that is close to our hearts.
Why are we asking for your support?
Less than a year ago, on the 24th of June 2022, we had to say goodbye to Alexander Rosseel, Karel's dad, who died of a glioblastoma at the age of 56.
Glioblastomas are the most common and aggressive and malignant tumors in the brain. Although this is the most common form of brain tumor in both adults and children, the many studies have not yet led to a breakthrough. New therapeutic strategies are thus necessary.
